... IN THE MIDDLE WITH YOU (Touring 2013-2015) This poignant piece delves in the nature of human experience. At times light and playful, at times stark and entrancing, the choreography moves us in very personal ways. Live music and a cast of five dancers, lure audiences in, with personal stories of love, friendship, loss and life, energy and physicality to take us to a more muted and abstract experience that becomes highly intimate. Uplifting and inspiring,…in the middle with you makes an emotional poem of the every day life.

FROM THE PRESS:

'Hagit Yakira 's new work '...in the middle with you' continues a journey of choreographic development that I have been privileged to watch unfurl over the past few years. This is a work brimful of ideas and moving imagery, danced with passion and conviction by her small company..... this work really deserves to be seen and Hagit Yakira Dance must be on the cusp of longer-term security...' Reviews

It is a sophisticated, fluid and coherent work that through exciting teamwork and meaningful interactions illustrates that being in the middle with Hagit Yakira is anything but boring. This was a delightful, moving experience performed by a fistful of charismatic, empathetic performers... This is a work brimful of ideas and moving imagery, danced with passion and conviction by her small company.... This work really deserves to be seen and Hagit Yakira Dance must be on the cusp of longer-term security.

It’s a dynamic piece that allows an audience and performer the time to reflect on what each movement means to them. At times it’s funny, at times quite sad. It is a well thought out and intelligently realised bit of work and at under an hour for a performance it is one that affords no excuse to decline an opportunity to witness it.

In the Middle with You is a mesmerising performance made up of five dancers who interact with one another in a fluid and intimate recital that is humble, yet mature. There are moments of joy, fear, storytelling... As a viewer, one runs the gamut of pretty much all human emotions throughout the show’s duration. In the Middle with You is a gem of a performance.
