Sophie Arstall is a Dance Artist, a Performer, Maker and Facilitator working in diverse settings and contexts. For choreographers in the UK and abroad: Hagit Yakira, Rosemary Lee, Stacked Wonky, Candoco Dance Company, Vanessa Grasse, Annie Hanauer, Mirjam Gurtner, Ingri Fiksdal, Rosie Kay, Willi Dorner, Tony Mira, Ben Wright, Charlie Morrissey in performances for Theatres, Outdoor and Gallery settings, in Festivals and in Operas. She makes her own work, both solo and collaborative, commissions include work for The Horniman Museum, South Bank Centre, Trinity Laban and Channel 4 Random Acts. She also has a developed teaching practice in which she regularly teaches Professional classes for dancers and Open classes bringing Creative Contemporary Dance to all ages and experiences. Her current artistic research focuses on the poetics of movement, working on Improvisational and Compositional approaches and ideas around Craftsmanship, drawing upon Somatic techniques and Internal Martial Arts practices in particular.
