Originally from Tokyo, Takako is educated at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London, where she also received AA Graduate Diploma in Spatial Performance and Design. Fascinated by the shared territories between architecture and contemporary dance/performing arts, Takako approaches architecture through choreography, and as choreography. She has been generating multi-disciplinary discourses by organising events, talks and workshops for the past years, involving people from architecture, choreography, art, performance and theatre. Her works have been exhibited at various places in London, Bauhaus Dessau and Morocco, also performed at Theatre Festival in Jena Germany. Most recently she presented and performed her paper at the Royal Academy of Arts. She teaches at the AA, also at Chelsea College of Arts. Her joy is also in photography, capturing fluid moments and its beauty through the framing of the lens. She has been following Hagit’s ‘Air Hunger’ with her camera from the start of the project, witnessing its development flourishing into a touching and ever-evolving piece of work.
