Carl Aquilizan is a filipino/norwegian dance artist from Oslo, Norway. He trained at Spin Off Forstudium i Dans and Northern School of Contemporary Dance. He has choreographed and performed independent work for platforms such as Burst at Yorkshire Dance, Dans/5, Vin og Valsen, Mind the Gap, Koreografilaboratoriet (2021) and CODA Oslo International Dance Festival (2022).

A main interest in his artistic work is a personal starting point, which is expressed through an abstract, poetic and often distorted landscape. Through an interdisciplinary expression he is interested in exploring personal reflections regarding social and cultural norms. In 2022 he created the solo piece “Flower boy” and the group piece “Blooming”, both exploring gender and queer identity.

As a performer he has worked with choreographers such as Katrine Kirsebom, Kyuja Bae, Daniel Lukehurst (UK), Martijn Joling (NL/NO), Live Skullerud (NO), Francesco Scavetta/Wee (SE/NO) and Hagit Yakira.
